A Smile for Life!

National Smile MonthAs a nation we are all more aware of how our oral health can affect our overall general health. There are established links between poor oral health and diseases like diabetes, heart disease and cancer, which is why we, the Cahill Dental Care centre are staging an event in support of the British Dental Health Foundation’s Smile Month Campaign at the Market Hall in Bolton.

The British Dental Health Foundation is the UK’s largest independent oral health charity and is dedicated to improving the public’s oral health. Smile Month is an annual, national event which dental organisations and practices are encouraged to support.

This year, the campaign’s slogan is “Teeth4Life” and its goal is to raise awareness of the link between good oral health and general well being, by encouraging brushing teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, cutting down on sugary food and drink, and visiting the dentist regularly.

This year, we are busy planning a return to the Market Hall in Bolton. Last year we had a stand during a week of Smile Month and had a really rewarding week promoting the British Dental Health Foundations messages, and offering the people of Bolton the opportunity to discuss their dental concerns and find out what they could do to improve their oral health. This year promises to be bigger and better! We have a competition to win a free course of tooth whitening (normally worth over £500), and have exciting offers and great giveaways planned for every day.

We will be assisted on the stand by representatives from different fields of dentistry, providing specialist advice on a whole range of dental issues from private dental insurance to new and exciting systems for straightening teeth.

We will be at the Market Hall from Monday 17th May – Sunday 23rd May 2010, on the ground floor, near the lifts. Why not pay us a visit, enter our competition and take the opportunity to get some free dental advice!
