20th May see the start of this year’s National Smile Month

National Smile Month is the month-long campaign run by organisers the British Dental Health Foundation to raise awareness of how important oral health is. This year it takes place from 20 May – 20 June

At the Cahill Dental Care centre we are offering a series of open days where we are inviting members of the public to come visit us for a tour of our friendly Practice and meet our team and find out what happens in the treatment rooms and behind the scenes we will also tell you about what great services we have to offer here at the centre. We will provide refreshments; our fabulous coffee machine is often a great attraction to our valued customers as well as our selection of fresh juices and biscuits.

This can be an educational experience, or a gentle introduction to nervous patients providing some reassurance and a chance to ask questions. Plus anyone who has ever heard, read or seen our practice and would like to visit our facilities all are welcome.

Everyone who attends our open day will receive a goodie bag and be entered into a prize draw for a Phillips sonicare tooth brush worth £85.00. All visitors will be given a promotional code for a half price consultations and tooth whitening with free smile imaging so why not book in for a Dental Examination and see what services we can offer you and how we can transform your smile.

The Christie Charity raises funds to help provide additional services and undertake vital research for our cancer patients. As one of Europe’s leading cancer centre’s, treating more than 40,000 patients a year every penny really does count.

In 2010 chris completed the London Marathon where he raised money for Bridge2Aid. After overcoming injury over the last year he has been swiftly attracted back to the marathon circuit, following a strict training regime to ensure that he completes the race.

We are pleased to announce that Dr Michael Cahill has been shortlisted at The Dental Awards 2012 in the category of Dentist of the Year – Northern Region.

The ceremony will take place on Friday 20^th April at the luxurious Lancaster London hotel. Best of luck to all those who have been shortlisted.

Over 5,000 dental professionals enjoyed meeting with more than 300 leading suppliers (the most ever), listening to over 50 world-class accredited conference sessions, accessing over 55 hours of FREE verifiable CPD, networking with senior executives, major associations and industry media over two action-packed days, and the atmosphere was buzzing!

Dr Michael Cahill chaired an inspirational aesthetic dentistry conference over the two days with a lineup of fantastic speakers and our Practice Manager, Gayna, gave a short presentation at the Business Conference on the Friday afternoon.

Smoking is the UK’s number one cause of avoidable premature death, linked to a range of serious and often fatal conditions.

• The risk of developing lung cancer, other cancers, heart attack, stroke and chronic lung disease is reduced – the sooner you stop smoking, the sooner your risk starts going down

• But it’s never too late. Smokers who give up smoking between 65 and 74 years of age have a better life expectancy beyond 75 than those who continue to smoke

We are pleased to announce that Dr Michael Cahill will be chairing the Aesthetic Dentist Conference at this year’s dentistry show.

The Dentistry Show is a world class two-day action-packed clinical and business conference and major exhibition for dental professionals. The event takes place on 2nd & 3rd March 2012, at Birmingham’s NEC (Hall 4) where an expected 6000 delegates are expected to attend. Dr Cahill has personally selected some world class speakers from all over the world and is very honored to have been asked to chair such an event.

The Dentistry Show is a great event for all dental professionals and is a great way for them to obtain requirements for their continuing professional development and keep up to date with all the latest techniques in dentistry. Many of the team will be going along to the event in support of Dr Cahill and also to update their knowledge to ensure we are providing you with the most up to date products and techniques during your visit.

We are delighted to announce that Dr Stephen Dodd, who has been with us for just over 6 months has been shortlisted in the Conservative Ceramic Smile category at the 2012 Smile Awards. The entry requires him to show how he has transformed a patient’s smile through minimal treatment on a couple of teeth . The Smile Awards are the only dental awards in the UK to reward clinical excellence in dental and facial aesthetics. As a team we are very proud that Stephen has been recognised for his clinical skills.

The ceremony will take place on Friday 23rd March 2012 at the Five star Landmark Hotel, a Grande Dame hotel in central London.
